El-Menahil Students Celebrate Mother’s Day with Messages of Love and Hope

In a touching humanitarian gesture, students of the Chinese Language Department at Al-Manahil International School organized a special event to mark Mother’s Day, which falls on the second Sunday of May. The event served as a heartfelt tribute, expressing gratitude and loyalty to mothers, especially those whose presence is missed but whose memories remain alive in the hearts of their children.
Supervised by their Chinese language teacher, the activity was inspired by the timeless saying, “Kindness should not be delayed,” and aimed to honor the value and virtues of motherhood in a deeply emotional and symbolic way.
The students wrote hand-written letters in both Chinese and Arabic, expressing their appreciation for the role of mothers and their immeasurable impact. These letters were accompanied by greeting cards adorned with symbols of hope and love. They also prepared floral arrangements with symbolic names reflecting the essence of motherhood—tenderness, generosity, protection, and light.
As a symbolic gesture, the students presented a desk lamp to signify that a mother is the guiding light in life, even in her absence. This gift was dedicated to two of their classmates: Najwa, who lost her family in the war, and Hajar, who lost her parents and brother in a devastating earthquake.
The event deeply resonated with both students and teachers, highlighting the school’s commitment to instilling values of empathy, compassion, and gratitude. It was a powerful reminder that love is not measured by material gifts, but by sincerity of feeling, warmth of presence, and loyalty to the memory of those we hold dear.
