Retinitis pigmentosa is a genetic eye disease where there isn’t currently a cure. Some experiments are trying to slow the progression of the disease, but there’s still a long way to go. Ahmed Abdelkader is one of three siblings with the disease. He traveled to Turkey after hearing about a doctor who might have a potential solution to restore his and his sisters’ sight.
Ahmed is hoping to find a treatment that will restore his sight. He’s even willing to take part in some practical experiments to try to make this happen. He’s not going to give up until he succeeds. He’s hoping that he’ll be able to return home with a solution that will make his sisters happy and lift the weight off their shoulders. It’s going to take a lot to get this family back on track.
