In an emotional moment filled with tears and longing. Mr. Kamel Khateeb reunited with his son, Yazan, after three months of separation. Yazan had received a scholarship from Tzu Chi University in Taiwan. He embraced his father, who works as a teacher at El-Menahil International School, in a heartfelt moment that left a lasting impression on all who witnessed it.
Today, the Tzu Chi Center for Humanities inaugurated the El-Menahil Art Exhibition, showcasing 53 artistic pieces created by students and teachers of El-Menahil International School. The exhibition was a testament to embodies tales of perseverance and dreams, inspired by Arabic proverbs and prophetic sayings that adorned the artworks with messages of determination and faith.
Commenting on one of the pieces, Mr. Faisal said, “This painting embodies faith, determination, and courage. It was created by a student whose dream once was just to secure daily bread but who now aspires to become a neurosurgeon.”
Mr. Kamel, who was forced to leave his homeland Syria due to the war, spoke about his journey, saying, “Each day, I lost a part of my life until I lost everything and decided to move to Turkey. Yet, I never lost hope.”
Miss Rasha expressed her pride in her students, saying, “I didn’t just teach them reading and writing; I taught them the values of Tzu Chi and how to carry kindness in their hearts.”
Master Tzu Yin conveyed a profound message, saying, “Despite the pain and suffering, life continues to offer us opportunities to sow seeds of goodness. Only kindness can make the world a better place, filled with love.”
Tzu Chi family has always been a symbol of love and generosity, embracing Syrian refugees and providing them with opportunities to restore their dreams and build their futures. Today, atEl-Menahil International School, they continue to overcome the sorrows of the past, illuminating their lives and the lives of others with light and faith.
