Astory of Mohammed Al-Afendi
Tzu Chi İyilik Vakfı Receives Daily Appeals for Urgent Assistance Amidst Challenging Times
Mr. Adnan Mohammed Al-Afendi is one of these cases involved, who had arrived in Istanbul from Damascus nearly two years ago with great hopes of providing a better life quality for his four children family. Adnan, a fifty-year-old man, used to work in a factory manufacturing lighting poles (Street lights). However, he suffered a work-related injury that resulted in the complete amputation of his right arm. He was transferred to the hospital where he underwent eight surgical procedures and spent 28 days recovering.
Adnan continues to endure physical pain from the surgery and struggles with his deteriorating mental state. With his children now without a provider and his inability to work, he faces significant challenges. Adnan expresses disappointment in his former employers who only covered the hospital expenses without compensating him for the injury.
Seeking assistance, Mr. Adnan submitted an application to the Relief Office, which carefully reviewed his case. Subsequently, he received an in-kind gift to help meet some of his family’s basic needs. His case is still being evaluated for possible inclusion in the list of families receiving monthly support.
